May 2026 Update
Graduation from SIBI & Rest
It’s been puzzling me what to say over this moment: Partly because this covers the first portentous landmark we’ve achieved since starting this newsletter, and partly because I overestimated how much vigor I could maintain in its direct aftermath. That isn’t to say things have been idle, far from it—I’ve revisited Carlsbad Caverns with classmates, preached in Arizona and Oklahoma, spent 3 days in mountaintop solitude in Saguaro National Park, attended a cousin’s wedding, and got ‘round to many others miscellaneous things—but for all my rushing about I’ve been neglecting both the virtue of stillness and the longterm planning one can’t crowd in an evening. Two years of keeping a rigorous schedule doesn’t exonerate my duties, but it does explain my fatigue! Hence, since finally flitting back to my folks’ home I’ve been intentionally trying to slow down and give myself space to accomplish tasks without hard deadlines, and to spend time with people I may not often see again in future. While that does mean crawling for a while, a great writer once penned ‘short cuts make long delays’, and I have found that proverb true enough. Still feel free to reach out, of course! I will be be reaching out myself as I’m able; there is yet much to do and settle before the fast approaching mission and youth classes. Below are some pictures of recent celebrations, certifications, and sights:
My sincerest gratitude to God Almighty and His saints for holding me upright on this long pilgrimage! I will not relent the call He entrusted me, though this upward course will continue to be challenging. May God likewise strengthen and guide you!
